Following our previous announcement last year, we are delighted to share an update on the Armed Forces Covenant Grants and the positive impact they have had across the Catterick Garrison preschool Group preschool settings.

.

Thanks to this support, all settings have been able to enrich their environments in ways that would not have been possible otherwise. The grants have enabled us to:

  • Create new garden spaces for outdoor learning and exploration

  • Upgrade equipment to enhance imaginative play and activities

  • Provide experiences and resources that couldn’t have been accessed otherwise

  • Provide dedicated spaces to nurture our younger children

The covenant grant has provided invaluable support in establishing a dedicated space that fosters the sleep, sensory, and cognitive development of babies and young children.

This environment plays a crucial role in nurturing their overall growth and well-being, with routine and strong attachments at its heart.

Routine is fundamental in helping children feel secure and comfortable; by maintaining consistent schedules, children can anticipate what comes next, which helps reduce anxiety and supports the development of healthy sleep patterns.

Strong attachment is equally essential, forming the foundation for emotional security and enabling children to explore their surroundings with confidence. This sense of safety is vital for their cognitive and sensory development, encouraging curiosity, learning, and imaginative play.

We are immensely grateful to the Armed Forces Covenant Grants for their invaluable support, which has allowed these enhancements across all three settings and continues to enrich the daily experiences of the children in our care.
